Â
When you visit Land Rover Indianapolis, you'll get a wide variety of Land Rover models to choose from, each one being very different from the next. In order to make the process of finding the right model easier, we'll breakdown two customer favorites, the 2020 Land Rover Discovery and the 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport. Both of these rugged premium SUVs break the mold in so many ways and can each offer a completely different driving experience. Â
PerformanceÂ
When it comes to Land Rover SUVs, there is a level of rugged capability in each model, while at the same time catering to a driver who wants the best in automotive features. The 2020 Land Rover Discovery and the Land Rover Discovery Sport both fall directly into this category. Powering the Land Rover Discovery Sport is a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine that dishes out 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft worth of torque, which is a rather lightweight engine for the SUVs size. A 9-speed automatic transmission is included in every model you purchase, and thanks to the robust all-wheel-drive system, the Land Rover Discovery Sport is pretty versatile when it comes to different terrain types. The Land Rover Discovery on the other hand comes packed with a bit more muscle, as base models get a 3.0-liter V6-engine, which makes for 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft worth of torque. A 8-speed automatic transmission organizes power-delivery in this model, but the four-wheel drive transmission coupled with a diversity of standard off-road equipment make for a luxury SUV that doubles as an excellent explorer vehicle.Â
TechnologyÂ
In terms of technology-based special features, both models come adequately equipped no matter what trim you purchase. The base model of the Discover Sport gets LED headlights, and a sprawling 10-inch touch-activated navigation system with Bluetooth technology all as standard. Meanwhile the 2020 Land Rover Discovery is saddled with an equally beefy assortment of interior infotainment tech, albeit a step or two ahead of its competitor. The Land Rover Discovery gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, as well as a large 10.0-inch infotainment screen. On top of that, drivers get power-adjustable seats, and leather upholstered seating as standard. Â
Safety Â
And on the subject of safety, it is the Land Rover Discovery that outpaces the Discovery Sport. While the Discovery Sport does offer a number of different active safety and driver assistance features in higher up models, you'll have to pay extra to get to them. Alternatively, the Land Rover Discovery comes as standard with a robust package which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and blind spot monitors, two great features that can truly change the way you drive. Â
To be fair, both of these luxury SUVs are plenty capable, and offer some serious value no matter what trim you decide to purchase.
